We share a history with Deadwood. In 1876, gold discovery for them was what an immigrant family moving to Mound City was to us: Dakota Territory birth. Our family legacy eventually led to Prairie Berry Winery.

Today with our Deadwood wine, we honor this neighboring town that continues to bring so many colorful characters (like Calamity Jane, Poker Alice, Wild Bill, and Potato Creek Johnny) to the Black Hills and to Prairie Berry.

I love the ruby red color and taste of Deadwood. Since it is made with black currant it has that hint of Lawrence Elk, but is not as sweet as Lawrence Elk (which is my favorite). After a few more glasses Deadwood may become my new favorite red wine from Prairie Berry. Love sharing it with friends!

I love this wine, but disappointed that the last 2 years I have wanted to order a case and it’s not available.
